Bay Clay Works,
located on the small tropical island of St John in the US Virgin
Islands, has everything you need to get creative with clay. If
you are a visitor, our 2-3 hour classes for kids and adults add
a creative dimension to your island experience. Our expert teaching
staff makes it easy and fun. Take a break from the tropical sun
to throw a pot on one of our 12 potter's wheels! Make porcelain
pendants embossed with local plants and shells as a necklace that
evokes your personal island memories. We have many exciting classes
to choose from.

Due to a family emergency the workshop was rescheduled. I
think the timing is great as accommodations rates and airfares

Artist Workshops bring nationally known clay artist/teachers
to our island for a week or a weekend to share their expertise,
work and play alongside you for a fun and rewarding learning experience.
Come work and play with "Raku Guru" Steven
If you already know your way around a clay studio, Open
Studio times are set aside for island visitors and locals
to work at your own pace without instruction. Throw a pot and
then wash the clay off your skin as you swim in the warm turquoise
Extended Classes for islanders from
ages "8 to 80" meet once a week (mornings, evenings
or weekends) for 5 weeks so you can build on your skills. Potters
wheel, Sculpture, Raku, Light Sconce and Tile Making are just
a few of the classes we offer.
Located within the Virgin Islands National Park, Maho
Bay Camps is home to the Maho Bay Clay Works and a growing
Art Center based on energy
conservation and reuse of resources. From hand blown recycled
glass, to our wood burning kiln fired with old shipping palette
wood, this is the perfect spot to explore the art of recycling
in ceramics, glass, papermaking, textiles, and mosaics.
