Designed for island visitors or someone who has time for just
one class. Generally two hours in length, these classes are a
good introduction to what we do in the clay studio.
WEEKLY CLASSES are ongoing except
for the first two weeks of November (11/1-11-16) and the third
week of December (12/13-12/19) please verify the schedule when
you sign up.
MONDAYS 2:00-4:00 pm Kids and Family Potters Wheel
(ages 8 and up) Learn the basics of throwing as you
are guided through the steps in making you own pot.

(ages 8 and up) Come and learn to make whistles, multi-note ocarinas,
and jingle bells using pinch pot and paddle formed methods.

Open Studio (ages 15 and up) (locals, see below) For those clay
people visiting the island this time is for you to get into the
studio and make something! A basic proficency in ceramics is needed.
Theres no instruction or teacher available. The studio will
happily glaze and fire your work for you if time does not permit
and finished work can also be shipped at an additional cost.

Handbuilding du jour (ages 12 and up)
Clay pendants or windchimes or mugs! Whoever signs up first picks
the project of the day. All projects are made out of clay slabs
which are decorated with local vegetation.

The EXTENDED CLASSES meet one time
a week for 4 to 5 weeks. Each Adult class lasts 3 hours. Students
have a chance to explore techniques in depth. Adult classes include
access to ONE OPEN STUDIO per week following each class. (Open
Studio schedule see below)
Extended classes are all 4 to 5 weeks long; includes all tools
and materials. Adult classes also include one open studio session
per week of class. Get some friends together this is a great way
to spend time with each other!
NOTE: The EXTENDED CLASSES AND 3 DAY CLASS are on the calendar
for specific dates. We need A 4 STUDENT MINIMUM to run any class
at the regular price. Private or semi private classes are available
for 1 to 3 people. Any time a group of 4 to 8 persons want to
take a class we can schedule a class for you!All ADULT classes
are open to high school students (or younger as ability and interest
allow).

Surface Decoration and Glazing for Stoneware Bring another
level of interest to your work. Learn about oxides, stains, slips,
flashing slips, scraffito, overglaze & underglaze techniques
and how they work with glazes and in the salt/wood kiln.

For those who have experience in ceramics or have completed one
of our beginning level courses this time is for you to work independently
in our well-equipped Caribbean clay studio. During open studio
you will be given a general orientation by the monitor, and have
access to all equipment and tools to work on individual projects
and pieces.
Open Studio time is bought in "sessions" and includes
the use of all tools and equipment.
Clay is bought separately and includes all glazing and
firing of ware.
No teacher will be available; this is not an instructed
class. Basic proficiency in ceramics is required.
